Having just been released from a Caldari gaol (traumatic for a largely law abiding carebear) I'd appreciate some advice / information.
I wanted to try boosters so purchased some when I was in Jita getting some other stuff. The little skull and crossbones should have been a clue but as I warped to the first gate I received a warning window, basically offering to either confiscate the contraband or destroy my ship. I tried doing things but it seems the warning window wasn't having any of that and left me no real option ... I handed over and accepted the penalties with what good grace I could muster.
So my question is "How do you carry contraband thru hisec?". Obviously someone(s) got the stuff to Jita, and obviously (since there's a market) people are buying it and I assume using it outside of Jita. I was in a mammoth. Would it have helped if I were in a cloaky covops ... fast aligning and cloaked? Would it have helped if I'd put the contraband in a secure container? I know I can't put it into a GSC in a courier contract ... because I did that with the other stuff and it rejected my first attempt because of the boosters.

Hell yes. Ya need me more than most anything. Not only that, but if ya kills me all the pleasure will seep out of your life ... a dire existence indeed.
Now just answer my bloody question or I might just self-destruct and leave you miserable.

Ahaaa, that sounds like a useful bit of info. Thanks very much. I will go test that idea shortly.

LOL, thanks velocity, for reaffirming my faith in human nature. I was starting to wonder whether I'd get away without a "pay me isk and I'll make your problem go away" response :-)
Still, I do count yours as one of the three helpful replies (so far) that make up the 'signal' ... as opposed to the 'noise': juvie 'hey I just discovered some anatomy, what do I do with it?' responses.
Thanks. If my need were more established, rather than just wanting to experiment (don't they all say that?), I'd certainly be looking towards services such as yours. Atm tho, I am more interested in learning about the game dynamics that accommodate the smuggling of contraband.
Take care, and all the best for that interesting industry of yours.

Originally by: Zedrik Cayne If all you are looking to do is experiment with the game mechanics...contraband is easy to come upon. Every low-level serpentis plex drops a variety of NPC contraband. Alt in various ships until you figure out what you are doing.. Or you can log into one of the test servers and do it on your main. (I'm not going to ruin VP's schtick by just telling you what you want to know...) But you now know what you need to to actually experiment and figure the mechanics out.
Thanks Zedric.
As a past intensive mission-runner I have no lack of skull-and-crossbones stuff scattered round the cosmos, so your experiemnt-with-an-alt sounds like a fine idea.
The test-server suggestion is also a darn good one, and I really should set myself up a test server capability.
Mind you, I still wouldn't be upset if someone just told me what I wanted to know :-)
Thanks.

OK, corp hangar in orca seems to work, and not just for that. I just moved a hi-value load of sleeper goodies down the 'very interesting' jita - rens route with all the good stuff, and a selection of boosters, in the CHA-area and the hold and other sections filled with much more mundane items.
It's not going to be my chosen way of moving valuables tho, just happened to be bringing the orca out of w-space anyway, because I found my heart racing everytime the darn orca spent forever aligning for the next warp ... and even more so when some tool locked visibly to scan me. I think I'd prefer not to know for sure I'm being scanned.
